One of the things on my list was to learn how to french braid. A seemingly simple thing, but it has always alluded me. I remember the first time a friend's mother french braided my unruly curly hair. I felt so pretty! I could never quite figure out how to recreate it, especially not on myself.
Now that I have daughters, it's something that I had on my "to learn" list. On Saturday we had some free time while Daddy was out fishing with his father and uncle so I sat my own curly haired girl, searched the internet until I found this tutorial and gave it the old college try!
It wasn't easy and I felt like I needed and extra hand or at least a few extra fingers, but I did it! I even did a DOUBLE braid! How's that for ambitious?
Ta da!
Not too shabby for my first time, eh? Gabby loved it and refused to let me take them out at bedtime. She wanted me to redo it the next morning, but I didn't have as much time to work on it (I'm still learning!) and the time was running out before it was time to leave for church.
I'm happy to have found another hairstyle to implement on her super curly hair. Do you have a favorite style for your hair or your daughters?
I am so excited to try out the tutorial! Thanks for sharing. I also have had it on my "to do" list to learn and haven't even tried...I'm a super slacker!
ReplyDeleteThat was the was simplest tutorial I could find that seemed to explain each step well enough! I hope you can use it to learn too!
