Reclaiming Lily : *A Review & A Giveaway!*

Gloria Powell is a reserved pastor's wife who has everything she's ever wanted for her life except for one thing....a child.  She longs desperately to feel that bond with a child that other mothers feel, yearns for it deep in her soul.  When she is told that she will never be able to become pregnant on her own, she and her husband begin to look into the world of adoption.  When she lays eyes on little Lily at an orphanage where she was left, she knows with every fiber in her being that this is her daughter, the one she has been waiting for her entire life.

Kai Chang is a determined, hard working Harvard educated physician who spends her days researching and treating patients with a horrid genetic disease.  Her mother was a victim of the illness, and Kai is set on doing all that she can to make sure that she and her sisters do not fall prey to it as well.  There is only one problem...one of her beloved sisters has been adopted from an orphanage in her home country and is now living somewhere in the United States.  Can she find her and ensure that she too is protected from this awful prognosis?  Or will the adoptive parents shut her out as a foreigner who they view as a threat to their family?

This book had me riveted to my chair from the beginning. It is a very well intertwined story of family, loss, love, and God's powerful guidance.  There was never a dull moment and the story flowed very easily.  I could feel the pain, the joy, the struggles of the characters from page to page.  I couldn't wait to see how it would all pan out in the end. Prior to Reclaiming Lily, I had never read any of Patti Lacy's work, but I will definitely look into her other works now!  A definite recommendation from me for anyone who wants a good fiction read!
