One of my primary goals as a parent is to instill a love of reading in my children. We read at every opportunity and we visit our public library very often. Sweetpea is already counting down the days until her fourth birthday so that she can receive a library card of her very own. We have bookshelves full and overflowing of children's books and I love that both Bub and Sweetpea will come to me at many points in the day to ask me to read to them. This made me very excited to receive these two books in the mail to review. It's the first time that we've received any children's literature but I was very pleased with these stories. Any Christian parent will tell you that they want to develop in their children a love for the Lord at a very young age, and what's a great way to do so? Reading them stories that engage them and capture their attention that tell of God's love! These two children's stories by Lisa Tawn Bergen are wonderful at doing this very thing! In God Gave Us Love, she teaches children about the different kinds of love that we have for our families, friends, and loved ones, but also about why it is important to share love with everyone we meet because of God's love for us. In God Gave Us Christmas, we learn about the very best present of all, Jesus Christ, in a way that children can understand easily. Both of my children enjoyed reading these books, and we plan on purchasing the others in the series, God Gave Us You, God Gave Us Two, and God Gave Us Heaven.
If you would like to purchase these books to add to your children's book collection, please visit Random House Publishing here or here.
